The Idea of a Charity Event

Posted in category Charity Fundraising

Whether it is a costume gala, a Blues night, an ’80s Retro Party, or a black- tie event, attendees have exclaimed time and time again that they crave experiences that will take them outside of their day to day lives. The idea of a charity event is to have fun; to laugh; to learn; to network; to feel good about being a part of something bigger than ourselves. And, themed charity events are the kinds of experiences that create and keep a lasting event goer base, ultimately lending stability to an organization’s ongoing work.

Having a theme makes it easy to plan a great night-a well developed theme practically makes decisions about decorations, food, and attire for you. Themes make your event memorable for your organization and for your constituency. If your guests know how to dress and what to expect at your event, then they will be prepared and excited for a fun time, and your organization will have a smooth and successful event. At the end of the night there will be great pictures to use as advertising for your next charity event, too.

How do you plan a themed event? Online ticketing is one great way to tie in your invitation to your theme and create lots of excitement for your event. Charitable organizations regardless of the strength of their name, reputation, or cause, should attract attendees by having themed events. The results of a market research report have shown that a well selected theme at an event (preferably one that ties into your cause and further illuminates its impact) will draw more guests- and thus more funds- to your organization.

The Great Thing about a Boat Donation

Posted in category Donation News

People who support charities have noticed a serious advantage to their time, energy, and money. They feel better knowing they have helped other human beings enjoy their lives but that does not mean there isn’t a benefit to you as well.

If you are unable to get a respectable price for the boat you are trying to sell, rather than take less, sign up for a boat donation. The great thing about a boat donation or even a yacht donation is that you can use it as a tax deduction which would end up saving you more money than you would have gotten if you sold it to someone.

If you were to sell a boat for $3,000 even though you wanted twice that amount, you still have to pay taxes on the money you made from the sale. However, if you were to sign up for a yacht donation, you may not have the cash in hand, but you would be able to deduct well more than $3,000 from your taxes and that would have a major impact on your return or how much money you owed next year.

Talk to your accountant and with the charity you want to make the donation to for more information. It really is worth it but financially and for more important reasons.

The Process of IVF Egg Donation

Posted in category Donation News

In the United States of America, about 15,000 babies are born because of successful in vitro fertilization. The number still increase each year.

For in vitro fertilization to work, the egg cell of a woman should be fertilized, meaning a sperm cell should successfully enter the egg cell. If the sperm and egg cell does not meet, then no fertilization can happen. This is the case of the fallopian tube is blocked or cut off as the case of tubal ligation. What the IVF process does is it takes out the egg cell and the sperm cell of the female and male accordingly. It is then fertilized in a controlled environment, usually inside the laboratory. Once the it is fertilized, it is then injected inside the woman’s uterus where nature can take its natural course.

Note that not all fertilized egg injected in the uterus successfully form into a healthy baby. There are factors to consider such as the health of the sperm and the egg, the condition of the woman, the age of the woman and other factors.

There are women who do not produce enough or even a single egg cell. This may be due to some rare disease or due to the fact that the reproductive organs are removed via surgery. In such cases, IVF egg donation is necessary. It is the only way that a woman without any egg cell can conceive a child, except of course if she just decides to adopt.

The IVF egg donation is a process where in a willing female will donate 10 to 15 egg cells for the purpose of assisted reproduction. When the female already donated the egg cell, the donor’s job is completed. Not all female can just donate eggs, mind you. There are guidelines set by American Society of Reproductive Medicine as well as the FDA before they allow any egg cell to be donated. This is to certify the their quality being donated to women who are unable to produce themselves.

The down side of in vitro fertilization is that is has lower success rate than other methods like reverse tubal ligation for example. Only 30% to 35% of women on the 35 years old age group are successful in conceiving a child through IVF. For women 40 years old and above, the success rate of IVF further declines at a mere 10%.
